For five Thursdays every summer the front lawn at 815 West Sixth Street stops being a lawn and starts being the room where Corona sees itself. Food carts under string lights, a stage facing the old Civic Center, and enough neighbors on folding chairs to make the sidewalk feel like a living room. In 2026, the last of those Thursdays lands on August 6.
That date matters more than the flyer suggests. It is the hinge between the Corona that gathers downtown and the Corona that gathers south of the 15, at Dos Lagos and along Bedford Canyon Road. Read the rest of the month as the handoff and the calendar reorganizes itself.
The last Thursday on Sixth Street
The City's 5-Night Summer Street Fair runs Thursdays, July 9 through August 6, 2026, with food, drinks and artisan vendors starting at 6 PM and live music at 7 PM on the Historic Civic Center's front lawn at 815 W. Sixth Street. Admission is free. The closing night this year is a country set, which is a fitting sendoff for a fair that has historically leaned into the older, dance-on-the-lawn side of the town's musical taste.
If you have lived in Corona for more than a few summers, you already know the rhythm. Get there at 6, walk the vendor row once, eat before the band starts, then hold your patch of grass. What is worth saying out loud is that August 6 is not just the last night of the series. It is the last free, weekly, walk-up gathering the city puts on the downtown lawn until next July. The calendar after it belongs to venues that charge admission and sit ten minutes south.
Where the town picks it back up
Ten minutes down Temescal Canyon, Dos Lagos runs a different kind of program. The lakeside amphitheater at 2780 Cabot Drive has a pattern most residents can recite by August: tribute weekends filling the shoulder dates and a bigger touring name anchoring a Friday or Saturday. This month, that anchor is Trace Adkins, with dates at the amphitheater on August 7 and 8. The Sixth Street lawn empties Thursday. The lakeside seats fill Friday.
Sunday mornings have their own venue. aFe POWER hosts Cars & CaFé at 1375 Sampson Avenue from 8 to 10 AM, all makes and models, with complimentary coffee and donuts. It is one of the few free, recurring events north of the freeway that draws a genuinely mixed crowd, from Foothill classic-car regulars to families killing a Sunday hour before the heat hits.

None of these are large enough to make a regional calendar. That is the point. If you live here, the shape of the month is the sum of them, and no single portal has all five in one place.
Bedford Marketplace is finishing what it started
The other thing happening this August is not on a stage. It is at the corner of Bedford Canyon Road and Cajalco, where Bedford Marketplace, designed in a contemporary farmhouse style with a blend of tenants where you can shop, dine, and stay, is finally reading as the finished center it was drawn as.
The pace picked up in late 2025 and has not slowed. Keke's Breakfast Cafe opened at 3915 Bedford Canyon Road on December 18, 2025, its first Los Angeles-market location, serving made-to-order pancakes, three-egg omelets, waffles and paninis in partnership with franchisee Lutfi Ismail. The Corona cafe is open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., which is a useful thing to know because the parking lot at 8:30 on a Saturday is not what it was a year ago.
Luna Grill confirmed a Corona location at 3915 Bedford Canyon Road, Suite 103 in Bedford Marketplace, bringing its Mediterranean fast-casual menu to the center as part of its 2026 pipeline. The 1,700-square-foot location was under construction with tenants Keke's Cafe and Ike's Love and Sandwiches also incoming per leasing records. If you are keeping score at home, that is a breakfast anchor, a Mediterranean lunch anchor, and a sandwich anchor slotting into the same block, next to the Hampton Inn and the Quick Quack. The center now covers seven-to-two on a weekday without asking you to leave the parking lot.
For residents of south Corona, this is the practical difference between 2024 and 2026. The trip that used to end at The Crossings for a specific kind of meal now ends closer to home for a different one. Bedford is no longer a gas-and-groceries stop. It is a place you meet someone.
The events worth clearing a night for
A few one-offs this month do not fit the weekly pattern and are easy to miss:
- Crown City Fest 2026 on August 14 and 15 at DBZ Books 'N' Records, a two-day independent-music showcase at the record store that has been quietly running one of the most consistent small-venue calendars in the Inland Empire.
- Grand Slam Market on August 15, 5 PM at Mountain Mike's Pizza, a card and collectibles pop-up that pulls a specific and loyal crowd from as far as Chino Hills.
- Corona Business Expo on August 18 at 3 PM at Eagle Glen Golf Club, useful if you run a business here or want to meet the people who do.
- AC/DC Back in Black tribute at Dos Lagos on August 1, and a mixed slate of tribute acts filling the amphitheater's shoulder dates through Labor Day.
None of these will draw a review in the LA Times. All of them will tell you something about who your neighbors are.
A week you can actually run
If you want a working template for the last stretch of summer, it goes like this:
- Thursday, Aug 6. Sixth Street lawn, 6 PM. Eat first, hold a patch of grass before 7. This is the last free downtown night of the year.
- Friday or Saturday, Aug 7–8. Dos Lagos for the Trace Adkins date if country is your thing, or Rockefellas at 21700 Temescal Canyon Road if you would rather stay inside.
- Sunday morning. Cars & CaFé at aFe POWER on Sampson, 8 to 10. Coffee, then out before the sun turns mean.
- Weekday breakfast, any day. Keke's at 3915 Bedford Canyon before 8, or the Corona Airport Cafe if you want the older, quirkier version of a Corona breakfast.
- Second weekend, Aug 14–15. Crown City Fest at DBZ if you want live music without a lawn chair. Grand Slam Market Saturday evening if the kids collect cards.
- Tuesday, Aug 18. Corona Business Expo at Eagle Glen if you have a professional reason to be there. Even if you do not, the room is a good read on who is moving here and why.
Why any of this matters for the town
Corona is often described from a freeway sign, or from the median price on a listing portal. Neither of those tells you what the last three Thursdays of the year on Sixth Street feel like, or what changed on Bedford Canyon Road between one Christmas and the next. The town has always had two centers. The 5-Night Street Fair is the older one telling you it is still here. Bedford Marketplace is the newer one telling you it is finally ready.
If you own here, that is a useful thing to notice, because the parts of Corona that gain a new anchor tenant, a new weekly ritual, or a new reason to drive five minutes instead of twenty are the parts that hold value in the flat months as well as the fast ones. Watching where the town actually shows up on a Thursday night in August is not lifestyle content. It is market data with better lighting.
